The challenges posed in
treating industrial process and wastewater streams are as varied as the
industries themselves. Steel mills, food processing, paper mills, refineries,
chemical manufacturing, etc.: each industrial site tends to produce a waste
stream unique in its' mix of contaminants. These can include suspended solids,
color, phosphorus, heavy metals, emulsified grease and oils, chemical oxygen
demand (COD) & biological oxygen demand (BOD). Some of these effluent streams
require only pre-treatment before being sent to local municipal wastewater
facilities. Others must be treated to a level that will allow them to be
discharged to nearby lakes or rivers.
GEO provides a complete
spectrum of aluminum-based coagulants to address these diverse applications.
From our core products of alum and aluminum chloride, through polyaluminum
chlorides (PAC's) that cover every basicity range, to enhancements of these
products with inorganic additives and organic polymers (polyelectrolytes), GEO
offers one of the widest product lines in the industry. And the line is
continually growing, as we develop custom formulations for our customers' needs.
This allows us to find the optimal treatment program for the industrial
customer, combining chemical performance and equipment optimization for maximum
cost effectiveness.
GEO also has the expertise
to accurately model each individual industrial treatment system, so our products
can be screened effectively in bench-top jar tests. This allows us to zero in on
the right product for the application, or "build" the right product as we test.
It also insures that the product will perform as well in your plant as it does
in the lab.
