The "Big Daddy" of the PAC
family, ACH offers the maximum alumina and basicity available in a stable
solution form. ACH is typically defined as at least 23% Al2O3 and 83% basic. As
it has the highest polynuclear content and highest level of neutralization, it
can deliver the benefits of PAC to the ultimate degree. However, knowing how to
properly apply ACH is key to reaping these benefits.
ACH is a workhorse product
in drinking water and industrial wastewater applications, as it can provide
performance across a wide variety of water conditions. Again, application
expertise is needed to fine tune dosage and make ACH the most cost effective
coagulant. With it's high alumina content, it is the least freight sensitive of
any of the PAC products.
To all of our PAC's and
ACH, GEO can add other inorganic species to selectively enhance performance:
improved color removal, faster floc formation, ability to handle high
alkalinity, etc. These formulas include a number of unique aluminum/iron blends.
We also recognize the importance of organic polymers (polyelectrolytes) in
combination with PAC chemistry to build an effective chemical treatment program:
GEO routinely tests and blends a complete range of polymers with our PAC's and
ACH.
