Bisomer® Hydroxy Monomers are used extensively in the production of acrylic polyols for automotive OEM and refinish coatings as well as industrial coatings. They are non-toxic and non-yellowing. Bisomer® Hydroxy Monomers are also used as co-monomers in styrene based unsaturated polyesters, PMMA based acrylic resins and vinyl ester formulations in anchor bolts and chemical fixings. They may also be used in the production of emulsion polymers in combination with other acrylic monomers, notably for textile coatings and textile sizes.
Bisomer® Specialty Adducts are a versatile range of hydroxy functional monoacrylates and monomethacrylates: all non-toxic and polymeric by classification. This varied range can provide either primary or secondary pendant hydroxyl reactivity and either hydrophilicity or hydrohobicity. They have very low glass transition temperatures, making them ideal for the internal platicisation of polymers. The monoacrylate Adducts are particularly useful as reactive diluents in UV curable formulations, offering low viscosity, low shrinkage and safety in handling. The "polymer" classification makes them suitable for "monomer-free" systems. The hydroxy functionality of all the Adducts ensure they are capable of further reactions in polymer systems. Bisomer Specialty Adducts are used in a variety of applications including automotive coatings, photopolymer printing plates, photoresists and 3D printing inks.
Bisomer® Multifunctional Monomers are an extensive range of Mono Functional and Di Functional methacrylate monomers manufactured using proprietary technology to the highest purity with minimal environmental impact. The Bisomer® Multifunctional Monomer range enables formulators to modify a wide range of resin properties including: flexibility, shrinkage, hardness, impact resistance, hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity, cross linking density and viscosity. As such they find use in a wide range of applications including: anaerobic adhesives, chemical fixings, marine coatings and sealants.
Bisomer® SEM is an ionic-methacrylate easily co-polymerisable with many suitable unsaturated molecules such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and acrylamide to produce very high molecular weight polyacrylamides. Bisomer SEM is particularly useful in the preparation of water treatment chemicals, paper treatment chemicals and chemical thickeners. Bisomer SEM is supplied pre-diluted in water with an active content of approximately 26% solids and has a pH of around 7. It may be considered in any number of water-based technologies for coatings and additives.
Bisomer® Amine D700 is a multifunctional amino alcohol for aqueous polymer systems. It forms an aqueous azeotrope that minimises dry time and maximises amine elimination. The surfactant effect of Bisomer AMINE D700 provides enhanced pigment dispersion, wetting and flow with additional benefits for water-based system formulators
Bisomer® PTE is an aromatic tertiary amine used as an amine activator for organic peroxide initiation. Bisomer PTE is extensively used to activate MMA based acrylic resins, styrene-based unsaturated polyesters and vinyl ester methacrylate formulations. It is ideal in a wide range of applications, including acrylic flooring, adhesives, chemical fixings, road-marking paints, anchor bolts and chemical mortars. In unsaturated polyesters (UPE), Bisomer PTE has a number of advantages over more commonly used activators: it is less toxic and so has reduced labelling, has a low odour both in handling and residual post polymerisation systems. The ease of handling is due to its syrup-like consistency and it may be used as a diol to incorporate into an UPE backbone through a condensation reaction with suitable polybasic carboxylic acids. |
